| Tampa Bay Recording Studio Polysound opened
in June of 1999 and was the product of 5 years
of dreaming. I began working in the Tampa
Bay area as a musician, first as the guitarist
for a group called PolyOrchid (1994), and
then later on as a bass player for the group Flood
(1997). During this time, we did a lot of our
own recording, and i learned very quickly that
recording & mixing for other bands was almost
as fun as working with my bands. In November
/ 1998, i decided to officially take myself out
of the "spotlight", and moved behind a mixing
board. With a life-long background in playing
one instrument or another, i decided to go back
to school and learn how to do this gig properly.
I attended FullSail Audio School in Orlando, Florida
and spent my time there reading and researching
every book, trade magazine, and website i could
get my hands on. Since i knew i wanted to
open my own facility, i began planning out an
ideal recording and mixing system that was cutting-edge
and would give clients every possible tool with
which to make and manipulate music...Polysound
has now been open for 11 years and has hosted sessions
for almost 120 different bands / artists / businesses.
The studio has evolved into a locally well-known
"cool place to hang out.." and has an extremely
laid-back feel and colorful neo-hippy look.
The studio records your music or dialog digitally,
mixes to analog tape, and is dead-serious about
the integrity of your "ones-&-zeros." The
studio can also help with projects that have been
recorded at another facility, providing fully-automated
mixing and high-end analog mastering. The
studio specializes in pop / modern-rock styles
and now sees a healthy amount of hip-hop as well.
Polysound also proudly serves the Christian
music market and has worked on several studio
and "on location" recordings for local artists
and churches. Polysound is proud to be serving
the Central Florida area's needs for audio recording,
mixing, and mastering. I would like to personally
